Yamaha introduceert nieuwe soundbar

Yamaha heeft een nieuwe soundbar geïntroduceerd. De YSP-2200 is uitgerust met in totaal zestien luidsprekers en kan volgens Yamaha het geluid van een 7.1-surroundset benaderen. Ook is de soundbar voorzien van hdmi 1.4-ingangen.

OnLive start levering Microconsole met PlayPack-abonnement

OnLive is begonnen met het leveren van zijn Game System. Dit bestaat uit een controller en de Microconsole, een klein kastje dat via hdmi op een tv kan worden aangesloten. Ook komt het bedrijf met een nieuwe abonnementsvorm.

Nokia N8 review als camera

De nieuwe Nokia N8 is uitgerust met een 12-megapixel camera en Carl Zeiss-lens, Xenon-flitser en een grote sensor die volgens Nokia wedijvert met digitale compactcamera’s. Bovendien biedt de smartphone de mogelijkheid videobeelden in HD TV 720p kwaliteit te maken en is hij als één van de weinigen voorzien van een HDMI aansluiting. Reden genoeg om deze telefoon in gebruik te nemen met dit keer vooral de nadruk op de foto en videomogelijkheden.

Panasonic unveils DMP-BD30 “next-gen” Blu-ray player

Panasonic’s new DMP-BD30 Blu-ray player serves up those HD discs extra fancy, being the first player to meet the requirements for BD-Video Final Standard Profile 1.1. That means a secondary video decoder for picture in picture (such as director’s commentary), and an extra audio decoder for working in sound from that second source or from interactive features. Other features of the $500 player include Deep Color Compatibility, HDMI 1.3B, 1080 / 24p playback, and an SD card slot that can play back 1080p AVCHD video from SD cards. We’re not exactly sure when the DMP-BD30 is hitting the streets, but it seems poised to steal the delayed Samsung BD-UP5000’s thunder.

Panasonic showcases in-dash Blu-ray head unit

Car AV enthusiasts, listen up. Panasonic has a new in-dash head unit that just might be worth waiting for — if you’d enjoy Blu-ray in your dash, that is. At the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan, Panny was busy showing off a new single-DIN unit that played back Blu-ray discs, sported an HDMI output and is even set to support full surround sound / BD-Java. Unfortunately, that pretty much sums up the details: no price, no release date and no model number, but be sure to check out two more looks posted after the break.

Xbox 360 Arcade officieel

De Xbox 360 Arcade is nu officieel aangekondigd door Microsoft in Europa. De Arcade is de goedkoopste Xbox 360 tot nu toe en ligt morgen in de winkels voor €279,99.

Dit pakket vervangt de Xbox 360 Core, maar biedt wel een draadloze controller, een HDMI aansluiting en een geheugenkaart van 256MB met enkele games [ Pac-Man Championship Edition, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket en Feeding Frenzy ]. Net als bij de Core, zit er geen harde schijf in deze Xbox. Overigens zal waarschijnlijk ergens later in 2008, de Xbox 360 standaard voorzien gaan worden van een HD-DVD speler.

At first glance, you may think that you’ve seen LG’s 22-inch Flatron M228WD before in another life, but fortunately that’s not the case. This unit ups the ante from the oh-so-similar M228WA that came before it by including an integrated digital TV tuner and swapping out the DVI port for an HDMI socket. Furthermore, you’ll find a 1,680 x 1,050 (WSXGA+) resolution panel, 300 cd/m2 brightness, five-millisecond response time, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and a fairly respectable port assortment including VGA, component, S-Video (x2) and composite. Regrettably, we’ve no price to share just yet, but you can look for it to land on UK shelves starting late next month.
