Hands-off with Panasonic’s PT-AE2000U 1080p projector

For whatever reason, Panasonic decided to safeguard its recently unveiled PT-AE2000U projector just like JVC did with its mysterious Blu-ray player, and while we did bust out our trusty MacGyver tool in an attempt to unlock the glass case, our efforts were in vain. All jesting aside, we did our best to snap a few somewhat legible photos of Panasonic’s latest and greatest 1080p home cinema projector, and while it seemed as if the company was trying to keep the area surrounding this bad boy devoid of light, trust us when we say it looked mighty luxurious.

Corel heeft een nieuwe versie uitgebracht van Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo: X2. Het pakket is geschikt voor beginners en gevorderden. Want, zoals Corel zelf zegt, “het pakket kent een zeer breed aanbod aan functies waarin gebruikers kunnen meegroeien naarmate hun vaardigheden en kennis toenemen.” Opvallend: er zit onder meer een functie in waarmee u iemand in één klik een maatje slanker kunt maken.

DirecTV’s HR21 pro gets official

DirecTV’s new hardware rollout has been in the making for some time and now the latest addition to the lineup has been officially unveiled at CEDIA. The HR21-200 was leaked last week, and we’ve seen prototypes at other shows, but now the prosumer DVR will finally go into production around the end of October and offers some nice features for custom installers — or anyone who’s serious about their home theater — like being rack mountable without a Middle Atlantic shelf, having a built in fiber HDMI port for long runs, or double the storage capacity of the HR20 (about 100 hours of MPEG-4 HD). In fact, the only downside seems to be the omission of OTA tuners, which is a non-issue if DirecTV HD locals are available in your area, but that can be a drag until DirecTV adds all the HD locals in every market.

Thalys gaat zijn hogesnelheidstreinen uitrusten met een breedbandinternetverbinding. Alle passagiers die tussen Parijs, Brussel, Amsterdam en Keulen reizen, kunnen medio 2008 gebruikmaken van breedband-wi-fi-internettoegang. Thalys wordt de eerste internationale hogesnelheidstrein die deze dienst aanbiedt over de Europese grenzen heen.
